Een jaar na het offline evenement "Enter Through the Void, Exit Through the Giftshop" organiseert Nein een online festival genaamd "DIAH (Do It At Home)". 30 artiesten werden uitgenodigd om van thuis uit een online verbinding te maken met een publiek, en zo op zoek te gaan naar een ander soort festivalervaring. Het kan werken als medicijn tegen eventuele verveling of als inspiratiebron voor jou en je bubbel.
Door middel van 3 open formats daagt Nein de deelnemende artiesten uit om buiten hun comfortzone te treden. Vanuit hun praktijk komen ze met verhalen, muziek en spannende instructies voor bezigheden om thuis te beleven. Dit kan binnen of buiten, alleen of met huisgenoten. Op die manier ontstaat er een veelheid aan vormen om te zien, horen en voelen. Zo word je regisseuse / regisseur van je eigen festival.
A year after the offline event "Enter Through the Void Exit Through the Giftshop", Nein organizes an online festival called "DIAH (Do It At Home)". 30 artists are invited to make an online engagement with an audience from home, in search of a different kind of festival experience. It can work as a medicine against possible boredom or as a source of inspiration for you and your bubble.
By means of 3 open formats, Nein challenges the participating artists to step outside their comfort zone. Departing from their practice they share stories, music and exciting instructions for activities to experience at home. This can be done indoors or outdoors, alone or with roommates. In this way, a multitude of forms are created to see, hear and feel. You become the director of your own festival.
Waarbij 10 artiesten een verhaal, sprookje of anekdote vertellen van hun favoriete auteur, iets lezen uit eigen werk, of spreken over iets dat hen bezighoudt.
Where 10 artists tell a story, fairytale or anecdote from their favorite author, read something from their own work, or talk about something that interests them.
Waarbij 10 artiesten minstens een uur muziek draaien en zo de sfeer bepalen om thuis je eigen feestje te bouwen, rustig te ontspannen tijdens een warm bad, of als soundtrack voor bij een van de verhalen.
Where 10 artists play music for an hour and thus determine the atmosphere to create your own party at home, relax quietly during a warm bath, or as a soundtrack for one of the stories.
Waarbij 10 artiesten instructies bedenken om een activiteit / performance thuis uit te voeren, zo kan je voor of samen met je huisgenoten performen, voor de mensen op straat, in je tuin, of vanaf je balkon.
Where 10 artists come up with instructions to perform an activity / performance at home. You can perform for or together with your housemates, for the people on the street, in your garden, or from your balcony.
En daar houdt het niet op: we vragen ook aan jou als toeschouwer om foto’s en video’s te delen terwijl je het werk beluistert, uitvoert, deelt, beleeft. Zo geef jij de artiesten je gemiste waardering terug, als een soort digitale vorm van applaus.
"DIAH" is een vervolg op het “print at home coloring book”, een project dat ontstond tijdens de eerste lockdown, waarbij 100 kunstenaars een kleurplaat ontwierpen om thuis te printen en in te kleuren. Dit werd hartverwarmend onthaald en breed gedragen en verspreid door zowel deelnemende kunstenaars als musea en de pers.
