Beste kunstorganisatie,

Op 15 April organiseert Nein 'een personeelsfeest' voor Dé Kunstenaar!

Dit kunnen beeldende kunstenaars zijn, maar ook performers, dansers, theatermakers, operazangers, muzikanten, ...

Om dit feest mogelijk te maken (dat hopelijk een jaarlijkse traditie zal worden) nodigen we alle kunstorganisaties en kunstinstituten uit voor een financiële bijdrage.

Nein heeft van de Stad Gent een subsidie gekregen en zal hiermee een programma voorzien. Dit programma zal bestaan uit speeches van kunstenaars, optredens of interventies. (TBA)

Voor de spijs en drank rekenen we op u, want bij elk goed personeelsfeest hoort natuurlijk een hapje en drankje om met collega’s te nuttigen!

Volgens de hoeveelheid verkregen middelen zal er in de eerste instantie drank aangekocht worden, in tweede instantie zullen er hapjes worden voorzien. Mocht er hierna nog geld over zijn, wordt dit integraal gedoneerd aan SOS Relief.

Hoewel we niemand zullen weigeren is het feest bedoeld voor kunstenaars (en hun partner), u kunt de kunstenaars met wie u samenwerk(t)e van harte uitnodigen op het feest!

Hiervoor moeten ze zichzelf op een lijst zetten zodat wij een zicht hebben over de hoeveelheid mensen die aanwezig zullen zijn.

Wij hopen alvast om uw donatie voor 6 december te mogen ontvangen!

Uw logo en naam zal verschijnen op deze pagina alsook in communicatie op social media.

Hoewel we niemand zullen weigeren en geen kunstenaarskaart zullen vragen bij het binnenkomen, is het feest bedoeld voor kunstenaars (en hun partner), u kan al uw collega's uitnodigen en de link doorsturen van de gastenlijst.

U kan ook deze uitnodiging doorsturen aan de organisaties waarmee u afgelopen jaar/jaren mee samenwerkte, met verzoek om een donatie voor het feest.

On the 15th of April, Nein is hosting "a staff party" for The Artist!

These can be visual artists, but also performers, dancers, theater makers, opera singers, musicians, ....

To make this party possible (which will hopefully become an annual tradition), we invite all art organizations and art institutes to make a financial contribution.

Nein has received a subsidy from the City of Ghent and will use this to provide a program. This program will consist of speeches by artists, performances or interventions. (TBA)

For the food and drinks we count on you, because every good staff party should of course include a snack and drink to enjoy with colleagues!

According to the amount of funds obtained, drinks will be purchased in the first instance, and snacks will be provided in the second instance. If there is any money left, this will be donated in full to SOS Relief.

Dear Artist!

On December 16, Nein is hosting "a staff party" for you! The Artist.

These can be visual artists, but also performers, dancers, theater makers, opera singers, musicians, ....

For this evening (that will hopefully become an annual tradition) we invite all artists to Kunsthal Gent for a drink and maybe a bite.

Nein has received a grant from the City of Ghent and will use this to provide a program. This program will consist of speeches by artists, performances or interventions. (TBA)

For food and drinks we count on the art organizations for a contribution, depending on this we provide drinks and secondarily snacks for everyone. In case there is any money left we will donate this to SOS relief.

Please use the button below to register as an artist on the guest list so we can get an idea of how many people will be attending on the night itself.

Although we will not reject anyone, the party is meant for artists (and partners), you can of course invite the artists you collaborate(d) with to the party!

To do this they must put themselves on a list so we have an indication on how many people will attend. More info for the artist can be found on the right.

We hope to receive your donation before the 20th of March!

Your logo and name will appear on this page as well as in communications on social media.

Although we will not turn anyone away and will not ask for an 'artist's card' when entering, the party is meant for artists (and partners), you can invite all your colleagues and forward the link from the guest list.

Het personeelsfeest

Het personeelsfeest is een happening om De Kunstenaar te vieren. Door Kunstenaars uit te nodigen over alle disciplines en instituten heen, tracht 'Het Personeelsfeest' alle hoeken van de sector samen te brengen: dansers, beeldhouwers, performers, schilders, muzikanten (...) en hen op een welverdiend voetstuk te plaatsen!

Want: zonder kunstenaar geen kunst!
Zonder kunst geen kunstsector!

Doordat Kunstenaars vaak op freelance basis werken, passeren zij per jaar verschillende instituten en andere faciliterende plekken, maar zij maken vrijwel nooit deel uit van het vaste personeel (natuurlijk zijn hier uitzonderingen).

Hierdoor lopen zij allerlei extralegale voordelen mis die bij werknemers in loondienst deel zijn van de werkcultuur: een chocolaatje met sinterklaas, een gênant kerstdiner, vrijmibo’s (vrijdagmiddag borrels), (verplichte) vakantie en feestdagen, een vervoermiddel van de zaak, zwangerschapsverlof, én natuurlijk het 'personeelsfeest' met bijbehorende speeches, hapjes en drankjes!

De Kunstenaar zou een werknemer moeten zijn als elke andere, en daarom zetten wij de kunstenaar op 15 April in het zonnetje. Dit natuurlijk in de hoop dat 'Het Personeelsfeest' een jaarlijkse traditie wordt!

Alle mensen zijn welkom, maar denk even na voor je je op de lijst zet, want er zijn beperkte plaatsen. Bent u bijvoorbeeld al uitgenodigd voor een ander personeelsfeest, of kan u al gebruik maken van bovengenoemde extralegale voordelen? Dan is dit feest misschien niet voor jou.

Maar vooral:

Bepaal gewoon zelf of u een kunstenaar bent of niet! Om u op weg te helpen geven wij u een losse grabbel uit de vele quotes die deze vraag in de loop van de geschiedenis al heeft voortgebracht:

The staff party

The staff party is a happening to celebrate The Artist. By inviting artists from all disciplines and institutions, 'The Staff Party' tries to bring together all corners of the sector: dancers, sculptors, performers, painters, musicians (...) and wants to put them on a well-deserved pedestal!

Because without artists there is no art!
Without art, there is no art world!

Because Artists often work on a freelance basis, they pass through several institutes and other facilitating places every year, but they are almost never part of the permanent staff (of course there are exceptions here).

Because of this they miss out on all kinds of extra-legal benefits that are part of the working culture of salaried employees: a chocolate egg with easter, an embarrassing Christmas dinner, Friday afternoon drinks, (mandatory) vacations and public holidays, a company vehicle, maternity leave, and of course the 'staff party' with its accompanying speeches, snacks and drinks!

The Artist should be an employee like any other, which is why we are putting the Artist in the spotlight on the 15th of April. This, of course, in the hope that 'The Staff Party' will become an annual tradition!

Everybody is welcome, but think twice before you put yourself on the list, because there are limited places. For example, have you already been invited to another staff party, or can you already take advantage of the above-mentioned benefits? Then this party might not be for you.

But most of all:

Simply decide yourself if you are an artist or not! To get you started, we'll give you a random grab from the many quotes this question has already spawned throughout history:
